Hi. I'm Amy (she.her.hers). Among other things, I am a director, playwright, and dramaturg. A proud Tectonic Theater Project Company Member, I have developed numerous productions with Tectonic, including Here There Are Blueberries (New York Theatre Workshop, La Jolla Playhouse, and Shakespeare Theatre Company. Pulitzer Prize finalist and recipient of the Trish Vradenburg Prize.), Seven Deadly Sins (Drama Desk Award), and Treatment & Data. AD credits include The Great Gatsby and Paradise Square on Broadway. Directing credits include Nine at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Eternal Flamer! at The Wild Project, and Jack Saleeby's A Clean Slate at The Tank.
I am inspired by many forms of art and nature, from the Tulip Stairs in London to sunrise hikes in the Blue Ridge Mountains. In my own work, I am particularly interested in the complexity of humans and how we can hold contradiction in each breath, as well as the unique potential of theater as a storytelling medium. I cherish leaning into artistic compositions of the stage with designers and digging into dramaturgies of emotion with actors.
